Tallest hempcrete building in the american continent
In Tulum, Heavengrown developed a pioneering four-story, solar-powered eco-home constructed with a hybrid system of wood structure and hempcrete infill. Set in the jungle environment, the building demonstrates the viability of multi-level, bio-based construction in tropical climates, combining carbon-negative materials with renewable energy systems. The project has become a local landmark and tourist attraction, showcasing scalable, climate-adapted hemp architecture in Mexico.

Near Tepoztlán, Heavengrown developed the first hempcrete and bamboo structure in the world, as part of a small off-grid community project. This pioneering build combined a bamboo structural frame with hempcrete walls, marking one of the earliest examples globally of integrating both materials into a single system. Constructed collaboratively with volunteers, the building served as a community workshop and prototype, demonstrating fast, low-impact construction using locally adaptable, bio-based materials designed for resilience in Mexico’s climate.
